That's the beauty of open source - freedom. <g>
When you get right down to it, I rarely type those dots and dashes anyway.
Just type the first few characters of a file and press tab. Presto, BASH
fills in the rest for me and it never seems to care if it's a '.' or a '-'.
I'm all for standards where not adhering to them breaks things; breaking
one's esthetic sensibilities doesn't count however...
