store function

Hello,

Can someone explain the "store" ruleset to me? Where exactly does the
message get stored, how is it stored, how can it get retrieved, etc.
I've seen the comments in the config file but I'm not sure exactly sure
just how things are stored, searched, etc. Is there any third party
software for the store management?

P.S. We're currently doing this on the back-end Exchange servers but
some folks don't stuff touching their servers at all.
