Both servers with this problem share one thing in common. My guess is
that it is a monitoring server checking smtp port for operation. I
suspect that if I disabled the smtp service check these messages would
go away. In Peter's case then since he too see this a lot in the log, it
would make sense that he had a device monitoring his SMTP port on his
mailserver.
