How aggressive are you rolling your log files?  I'd look in /var/log to see
if there's not a years worth or so of old logs that have been tarred/gzipped
and and just taking up space.  If so, I'd archive them to another partition
or delete them and see if you can free up a few hundred megs.  Not sure
about other distros, but SuSE seems to default to keeping logs around for a
365 days or 99 iterations, whichever comes first (if I understand logrotate
arightly).  If you distro is similar there's probably a lot of deadwood that
you could prune...
