Receiving other people's mail

Thanks a lot guys. I looked through the logs and found the following line:

Dec 21 09:38:21 mail2 MailScanner[10307]: Spam Actions: message C7AF64BE0
actions are store,forward,rgreen at trayerproducts.com

So, I missed the forward in the MailScanner.conf file. Odd because I opened
the file with my editor and used the search in the editor and didn't find it
the first time. In the conf file is the following line:

High Scoring Spam Actions = store forward rgreen at trayerproducts.com

I do now recall setting this up to do that. With all my responsibilities
it's difficult to remember everything I've done.

Maybe it would be cool to have MailScanner send the forward as an attachment
rather than have it appear as if it was delivered normally. Maybe this would
prevent confusion for me. :-)

Thanks again,
Rod

You could be in BCC. Check your mail logs (you can use the message ID for
reference) and, if you want to be sure in the future (except in cases where
end user privacy may be a concern) check the MailScanner.conf file for a
setting that adds "mailscanner from" and "mailscanner to" to the headers so
you'll know.

Subject: Receiving other people's mail

Hello. I'm using MailScanner (I am not sure which version) along with
Postfix. While tweaking SpamAssassin I was looking at headers of some spam
I've received and noticed that my address is not anywhere in the headers. An
address of a co-worker is but mine is nowhere to be found. I checked
mailscanner.conf and the forward directive is not set for spam. Any ideas on
how I'm receiving mail addressed to another user? I've checked my virtual
maps file as well as my aliases file and nothing is setup to forward mail to
me. The only mail I'm getting addressed to the co-worker is spam.

Thanks,
Rod
