The "Archive Mail" archive is intentionally kept as an identical copy of
what comes in. Most of the people who use this feature are financial and
legal companies where they must archive their email by law. This archive
must be an exact copy, else it has no use whatsoever as a legal copy.
This archive was never meant to be accessed by your users.
I also use it for building test datasets of hundreds of thousands of
messages, which I use for load and capacity testing. A filtered archive
would be no use for this at all.
Changing this archive so that it could be kept 'clean' would be quite a
major change, so I am very reluctant to do it. As MailScanner works
through a batch of messages, it clears messages out of memory once it
has finished with them, so it doesn't do more processing on a message
than is absolutely needed.
Hope you understand.
