The logic is that Archiving is done "pre" spam and virus checks if I recall
correctly. The only way to overcome this is to
reject mail using RBL's or milters (like milter-sender and clamav-milter) at
the MTA level. Also helps keep your cpu utilization low, as MailScanner has
less left to do.
Does anybody know if there's an MTA-level way for Sendmail to reject mail
based on SPF, like an SPF-milter, that works well?

Yes - I've been meaning to ask about this. Archived mail skips virus
checking
- correct? If so, I don't understand the logic of this.
