If you don't want to have to check the root mailbox on relay servers, you
can put a .forward file in the root's home dir.  In it just put the address
to forward the messages to.  In mine, I have:

        postmaster at ci.juneau.ak.us

and all mail is forwarded to our exchange server where I can see it at the
same time I look at my regular mail rather than building up in mbox on the
Linux server...
