Jason,
Most hosting providers service all their domain names with a central mail
server so you're going to get a lot of unmatched results. (i.e. mail from
joe at joeco.com might come from mail.somehostingco.com).
You're probably going to want to look into SPF for this sort of
checking. For information on this, check out the last two issues of Linux
Journal or the SPF website:
