Scanning Blocked by Bayes rebuild ?

Dear list,
   my mailscanner (4.29.7) hung some  hours ago and the latest messages were :

Apr 12 18:43:27 pianeta MailScanner[10494]: Bayes database rebuild is due
Apr 12 18:43:28 pianeta MailScanner[10494]: SpamAssassin Bayes database rebuild preparing

after these messages, no messages were scanned at all (mail blocked).
This is the second time that mailscanner hangs without any error in the last few days.

Any hints about it ?

Ps.
       host : Sun-Fire-V440 / Solaris 9  / 4cpu / 8Gb RAM
       perl :  This is perl, v5.8.0 built for sun4-solaris
       SpamEngine:    SpamAssassin version 2.61
