CustomConfig parameters and SQL rules

Hi all,
I'm thinking about writing a generic CustomConfig procedure to read
MailScanner config rules from a database at startup and to check a revision
number and reload as necessary per batch of messages.
I was wondering if it is possible to pass arguments to the function from
MailScanner.conf e.g. Virus Scanning: &GetSQLRules('virusscanning') or to
be able to get the name of the configuration variable from inside the
procedure??
Also has anyone already got something that does this already that they'd be
willing to share??
Kind regards,
Steve.
