This happened to my server back when I used MS 3.27-x. The best thing to do is
to re-run sophos.install again. I remember I renamed /usr/local/Sophos to
/usr/local/Sophos.old and ran the install again. It would take you no time to do
this.

I would highly advise you to upgrade to MS 4 as it is feature-loaded.
