Restarting the MailScanner process.

Guys,

hopefully a quickie here. I've just modified my MailScanner.conf to look at a rule to allow HTML <form> tags FromOrTo just one specific address. 

We're running MailScanner-4.22-4 from the tarball distribution and I just wanted to know what's the quickest, safest way to restart to reread that config? Can I just kill -1 the PPID? Or do I kill the process and its children then run check_mailscanner again?
