You haven't incorporated your changes into the new MailScanner.conf file,
you have just blindly used your old one and are therefore missing the
configuration option

Same problem as above.
It is now a "PID File" and not a "PID Dir". Full description in your newly
supplied MailScanner.conf file is

# Set where to store the process id number so you can stop MailScanner
PID file = /var/run/MailScanner.pid
