I'd seen that & do have that set, but as far as I can see it doesn't have the effect I'm looking for.
If I understand correctly this prevents multiple signatures being applied when one message passes through several MS severs on its journey. My issue is subtly different because I want to supress adding an extra sig each time a user replies to an email [NB we use MS on a border server - so this is only for mail exchanges with external bodies]. Presumably this isn't spotted by MS because it gets a new set of headers as it is (from the MTA's point of view) a new message. What happens is this...

I send mail to external person [sig added]
external person replies [includes my original email in their reply]
I reply to them [another sig added, even though there is already one in the body]

I'll reiterate that I don't consider this a bug - or even a limitation of MS, as I'm trying to use the Sign Clean Messages option for something different than what it was designed for. FWIW I think sign clean messages should sign again on replys when it is actually being used to indicate a message has been scanned, since a reply could conceivably introduce a virus - however thats not my situation.

Just for illustration purposes I've not trimmed the sigs from the message I'm replying to here...
