DNS based block lists and the like question.

Hi.
  If I use a dnsbl like SORBS (www.sorbs.net) in MailScanner, do I also
need to set the same dnsbl in sendmail, or any MTA in general?  If no,
what happens if there is a  dnsbl listing in the MTA?
