Bad MailScanner Publicity

Gerry,

Having seen this type of activity over the past few weeks, I would have to
agree that the number of "mis-configured" MailScanner implementations in the
wild has grown to epidemic proportions.

I wonder if it might be fair to require those who download to first subscribe
(or be verified against) the MailScanner-Announce list.  This way (for the
most part) downloaders/implementers could be made aware of new version
releases and Important configuration changes/issues.

I am personally aware of 10+ sites that don't subscribe to any of the
lists and only update when I happen to mention a new release or recommended
configuration change. (This goes for their AV engine and SpamAssassin as
well...sigh)

There has to be a better way....
