MailScanner doesn't deal with lousy internet

If we had an alternative, we would. We are on a small Caribbean Island where
we are lucky to have good internet at all. This problem is recent and
concerns a certina router, I'm sure will be fixed soon but it still
illustrates a rpoblem with MailScanner. Sendmail never locked up despite
internet problems.
