True.   ClamAV, being a relatively recent project, has focused on having
signatures for current viruses in circulation, and is still in the process of
"catching up" with signatures for all the old ones.

That said, it comes with a signature-generating tool which anyone who has a
virus and another anti-virus engine which recognises it can use to create a
new signature for ClamAV.
