It does all the scans on the message. The order doesn't matter.

Not easily no, and I can't remember quite why at the moment but it doesn't
actually make any noticeable speed difference. Too busy to stop and think
about this today, but I have answered this question a number of times in
the past and have always come to the same conclusion.
