Try

/bin/perl -v
/usr/bin/perl -v
/usr/local/bin/perl -v

locate perl
whereis perl

If more than one of the first 3 succeed, then ensure they are actually
links to each other and not separate binaries. And the last 2 will show you
where on your filesystem and path you have perl.
