I am running a RPM version of sendmail-tls.

No, I didn't know, thank you. But I am a bloody newbie concerning linux
and I am not sure, if I should try to install sendmail from a
non-rpm-version.

Thanks for helping. Despite the spam action problem, everything is
working fine now.
