Haven't tried it, but....

Depends on your OS and NFS.
The following is from memory, so don't trust it.

Under Linux:
Sendmail's locking will not work over NFS.
Exim's locking will work over NFS, so long as you're using the right NFS.

Mailscanner's locking *should* (if we've got it right) be the same as the
MTA in use.

So under Linux with Exim and the right NFS server and client (the latest
ones, basically, and set up in such a way as to do locking), you *might*
be OK.

The exim_lock program can be helpful for testing such things.
