Sorry its getting late - I meant perl-base >=5.800 (rather than 'perl') and this is a dependency of some of the other packages rather than the core mailscanner package.  I added a --nodeps in the rpm command during the loop which builds and installs these packages script for installing the built perl modules (having manually checked the dependencies)
