Autoresponders...

Geez, I just posted to the list and get 3 out-of-the-office autoreplies.
PLEASE, DON'T. IF YOU HAVE TO use an autoresponder, either use a
sophisticated procmail "vacation" recipe or don't use one at all.
There's even a
Precedence: list
Header included, so it's pretty easy to filter in procmail.
I remember christmas 2 years ago when some dude had an
autoresponder running that even replied back to its bounces.
/me doesn't want to see that for this year's christmas, so please shut it
off - you know who you are :)
Besides, there are other reasons NOT to use a vacation responder:

Hint:

I think the following recipe works with procmail:
:0 Whc: vacation.lock
              * ^To:.*your at email.com
              * !^FROM_DAEMON
              * !^X-Loop: your at email.com
              | formail -rD 8192 vacation.cache
                :0 ehc
                | (formail -rI"Precedence: junk" \
                     -A"X-Loop: your at email.com" ; \
                     cat $HOME/.vacation.msg \
                  ) | $SENDMAIL -oi -t

Although I wonder if the Precedence: junk would be enough for this list.
Now, back to the topic...

Regards,

Steffan
