yes - rule du jour only updates the extra rules you tell it about, not any core spamassassin rules. This is SA-UPDATE's job.

4. I am using local RBL server which get sync with paid RBL sites.

good - turn the other RBL's off in spamassassin by giving them a zero score - (check /usr/share/spamassassin/20_dnsbl_tests.cf or /var/lib/spamassassin/<version>/20_dnsbl_tests.cf after you've run sa-update for the list of RBLs in default use by spamassassin name).

Could well be you'r trying to hit dead RBL's is you've disabled them explicitly .

Also run a local caching nameserver on the mailscanner box - yes this makes a difference even if the main DNS server is 2ms away!

Yes.
As mentioned in the other mail I sent you:
- Check your bayes seen file, perhaps resetting it (rm .....)
- Check if you have any bayes expiry problems (ls
/path/to/bayes/*expir*). If you have, consider disabling the automatic
expiry and using a cron'd sa-learn --force-expire instead.
- Increase the SpamAssassin timout value in MailScanner.conf. The
default is very low. I set it to 300 seconds...
- run sa-update (if you don't do that automatically, which you should).
- Your problems *might* be related to RBLs, so check that and perhaps
turn off any offenders
- do sa-compile.

Cheers
