I did apply the updated Message.pm file I am however still seeing the<br>
increased load on the server compared to versions 4.69.9-3 and prior.<br>

My 2 servers run at around lavg of 0.8, since first updating the one<br>
server then the other (can correlate this on my load graphs) the load<br>
now is around 1.5-2.<br>

Unfortunatly I didn't have the MailScanner performance logging enabled<br>
previously so I can't compare the internal runtimes to then.<br>
<br>
I am running 12 children on a 4 way box with 4096Mb ram with incoming<br>
area in tmpfs on CentOS 5.2 x86_64. Looking at my graphs I can see an<br>
increase in my CPU User time, CPU System time increased slightly but<br>
IOWait seem relatively the same. I am also running ClamAV module 0.22<br>
with ClamAV 0.94.<br>

I could revert to an older build of MailScanner to test, but there is a<br>
compatibility issue with CLamAv? Or will ClamAV module handle that?<br>

Seriously though, if you are using 4.72.5 you might need the latest<br>
Message.pm fix that Jules posted, or else you would see the children<br>
start to loop on some specific messages... Notably, the busy<br>
MailScanner child will report "cleaning messages" as commandline in<br>
"ps"... and never leave that state.<br>
Solutions would be:<br>
- get a hold of the fixed Message.pm and drop that into place (restart<br>
MS after that), or<br>
- revert to 4.71, or<br>
- wait for Jules to post a new release with the fix incorporated<br>
(there just might be a new beta around the corner:-).<br>
