just applied this patch and it appears to do the trick just fine. I will need to
let it run for a day or so but it hasnt broken anything obvious and its solved

really do not know anythin about perl but from the patch it would appear that it
only deals with the quarantine group ID and not the user id. For completeness
should it not also handle the quarantine user ID? Its not a problem in my setup
as I only need to modify the group info to get mailwatch

size=2>Julian, can you take a look and see if this will cause problems for
people running MailScanner as root? It seems to fix this issue for me
running exim, and I know of another user who runs postfix and it also fixed
the issue for him. I had the exim user in the apache group, but
MailScanner would not change the group unless I had this patch in there

file quite happily using the postfix user why cant
