I'm assuming you have the tar of the rpm install. What I do is this (on Red
Hat and Fedora): <br>
<br>
1) Go to my sources directory (where I have the tar.gz) <br>
cd /usr/local/src <br>
<br>
2) unpack <br>
tar xzf MailScanner-4.26.8-1.rpm.tar.gz <br>
<br>
3) go the the unpack directory <br>
cd MailScanner-4.26.8-1 <br>
<br>
4) read documentation and install <br>
joe README <br>
./install.sh <br>
and follow the instructions on screen (for me it has always been completely
painless) <br>
This is one of the best (or THE best) install procedure of any complex software
I have seen. <br>
<br>
5) Tweak the conf files (instructions come after the install). <br>
<br>
This assumes you are upgrading from a relatively recent version of MS. <br>
