size=2>Because i had the same problem when i wasnt starting sendmail properly
after installing mailscanner.. Now I know to use Mailscanner to start~stop
services for sendmail and that solved it for me at least..</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

according to the laws of Murphy, <BR>something dies. <BR><BR>mailscanner
starts, reporting into mail.log syslog that it is running -- <BR>that is the
last message I see. <BR><BR>Our SMTP workload is very very heavy, with 19000
accounts. Even doing an ls <BR>-l on the /var/spool/mqueue.in directory takes
forever... sendmail is still <BR>running, in the recommended configuration.
