Something to consider, I tried converting the 1x1spacer.gif file that Shawn
Iverson was hosting to base64, and it looks like it is usable within the
MailScanner configuration as a data URI.  This would eliminate the need for
hosting the file (or for email clients to potentially request it), as it
embeds the GIF within the message.

data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAJEAAP///wAAAAAAAAAAACH5BAkAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAgEAAEEBAA7
