I have OpenSUSE 15.2 with MailScanner version 5.3.3

I have upgraded to ClamAV 0.102.4 from sources.
After upgrade there is problem with permissions issue:

MailScanner --lint: Cannot find Socket (/var/run/clamav/clamd-socket) Exiting! at /usr/share/MailScanner/perl/MailScanner/SweepViruses.pm line 2308.
MailScanner[5008]: Cannot find Socket (/var/run/clamav/clamd-socket) Exiting!

If anyone could help me I would appreciate it :)

MailScanner is run as postix

It would seem as if MailScanner is expecting the docker to be located at?/var/run/clamav/clamd-socket

Your clam AV configuration does however use?/var/run/clamav/clamd.socket

Have you tried to change the clam AV configuration to use?/var/run/clamav/clamd-socket

Thanks Kenneth! Shame on me ?
I was looking for permissions problems and didn't notice:

MailScanner expecting clamd-socket and Clam has: clamd.socket

Now it works like like a charm!

It would seem as if MailScanner is expecting the docker to be located at /var/run/clamav/clamd-socket

Your clam AV configuration does however use /var/run/clamav/clamd.socket

Have you tried to change the clam AV configuration to use /var/run/clamav/clamd-socket

After upgrade there is problem with permissions issue:

MailScanner --lint: Cannot find Socket (/var/run/clamav/clamd-socket) Exiting! at /usr/share/MailScanner/perl/MailScanner/SweepViruses.pm line 2308.

If this is showing up as text/plain, then I think I need to run some 
debugging.

I don't think adding any allows is going to help.

I am now concerned that MailScanner is trying the parse it as a part of 
the message itself.

I ran a generic gzipped sql file through my system without issues, I'm 
going to have to stand up a wordpress site to troubleshoot further.? 
There may be something specific to Wordpress.

suggest you whitelist the sender in the meantime so that MailScanner 
doesn't have to try to analyze the message?

Hi,
I tried whitelisting the domain already, but it didn't work. Mailscanner did scan that domain even after whitelisting and issue was still there.So please help us with the issue and a fix for it.

So, which 3rd party backup plugin are you using?

Wordpress doesn't appear to have a built-in backup utility that emails 
you the backup. (which, by the way, I consider a bad idea considering 
the sensitivity of the contents, but to each their own.)

 Hi,
The plugin used appears to be 'WP-DB-Backup'? (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-db-backup/).So is there any fix or resolution for the issue? Why is this causing?

Wordpress doesn't appear to have a built-in backup utility that emails you the backup. (which, by the way, I consider a bad idea considering the sensitivity of the contents, but to each their own.)

This plugin is outdated by 3 WordPress versions, and it does not work 
out of the box with the latest WordPress with the email function.

Use a different plugin because I am not going to support this.

Based on looking at the source code, it is not building a valid message 
and is likely the culprit.

It also has a bug on line 1002 that leaves off the MIME-Version header.

Hi,

Every once in a while I have to release messages from quarantine.
However when I do so the mail that is released to the recipient has the
postmaster as the FROM and a subject set to 'Message release from
quarantine'.
I'd prefer that the message is released with the original FROM and subject.
So just as if nothing happened and the mail got to the mailbox right away.

How would I accomplish this? It's a postfix with dovecot(imap) and
MailScanner setup.

It appears this is a MailWatch issue, not a MailScanner issue.

to
