So it doesn't appear to be a `spamc` (invoking spamd) vs `spamassassin`
issue. Have you tried removing /var/spool/MailScanner/spamassassin/*
Also, do you have
MCP Checks = yes
somewhere in your MailScanner configuration? If so, do you have
use_bayes 1
in /etc/MailScanner/mcp/mcp.spamassassin.conf?
