MailScanner Lint Error

What happens if you run "telnet localhost 3306"?  Do you see

Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.

I don't use MailWatch, but does it connect to MySQL via a socket 
(typically /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock) or via TCP on port 3306?
