MailScanner Not starting after upgrade

Check /etc/MailScanner/defaults and make sure the run line is set to 1:
  run_mailscanner=1

Might not be your problem, but it bit me a while back. The defaults file installed during the upgrade was set to 0.

Subject: MailScanner Not starting after upgrade

HI All,

Just wondering whether I could get some pointers.

Probably not the best idea but decided that I would upgrade my MailScanner and system as it hadn’t been touched in a number of years.

Install went ok for Mailscanner however its refusing to start.

Output of MailScanner –lint

Can't load '/usr/local/lib64/perl5/auto/Compress/Raw/Zlib/Zlib.so' for module Compress::Raw::Zlib: libperl.so.5.24: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory at /usr/lib64/perl5/DynaLoader.pm line 193.
at /usr/local/share/perl5/Archive/Zip.pm line 9.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/local/share/perl5/Archive/Zip.pm line 9.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/local/share/perl5/Archive/Zip.pm line 9.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/MailScanner/perl/MailScanner/Message.pm line 40.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/MailScanner/perl/MailScanner/Message.pm line 40.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/sbin/MailScanner line 107.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/sbin/MailScanner line 107.

Its looking like a perl module from what I can see. Installer had no issues with the module checks

Archive::Tar => OK
Archive::Zip => OK
bignum => OK
Carp => OK
Compress::Zlib => OK
Compress::Raw::Zlib => OK
Convert::BinHex => OK
Convert::TNEF => OK
Etc..

Any thoughts or pointers would be appreciated.

Warren
