MailScanner 5.0.6 on Ubuntu 16.04 uses systemd rather than sysVinit. The
start/stop script is installed at
/lib/systemd/system/mailscanner.service and symlinked from
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/mailscanner.service. You
start MailScanner with

sudo service mailscanner start
