SV: MailScanner defunct, attempted too many times

Is it all the messages there is kept on the server, or is some of them delivered?

hi friends,
need your help, in mail.log is appear message below many times, and daemon
MailScanner is <defunct>, queue grow up till 320 message and follow grow up.
how can i do?,
