If you have a message that exhibits this behavior; then put it in the 
incoming queue with MailScanner stopped and then run:

strace MailScanner --debug &> strace.log

Then pastebin the last 50 lines of strace.log; this might at least give 
us some sort of idea as to where things are breaking.
