Few suggestions fore a successful transition:

Backup your new machine files before modifying.
Change the ip of the new machine to match the old machine ip or
modify your external firewall in order to forward the ports to your
new machine
Import from the old server the named configs  ( /var/named/) and also
the dovecot settings if you use it.
If you use certificates with saslauthd you need to import them also.
