sendmail/mailscanner taking 19 hours to scan two attachments

Is anything in the system not out of date?

That single line from the log isn't enough information. 

What have you tried so far regarding the different options outlined in the wiki regarding troubleshooting and optimizations?

/var/log/maillog only has one consistent error:

ERROR: MALFORMED DATABASE
