I've never wanted to use MimeDefang since MailScanner has always
solved my problems and there seemed to be a lot of overlap between the
two but now MailScanners development seems to have slowed down a lot.

Looking through MimeDefangs documentation I think you're right, I sure
seems capable of doing what I want. Maybe CustomFunctions in
MailScanner could do it as well but not many seem to use those and I
know little about how to proceed with those.
