MS spamassassin timeouts

I had a feeling that it was related to bayes...
I've created a new blank bayes database (its stored in mysql currently) and it processes the batch in debug mode and requeues the emails a lot quicker than before, but MS is still hanging at

I've checked the mysql processlist and there's nothing queued or locked up there.
