Running two instances of mailscanner on the same machine

I want to resubmit some messages back into the queue to be scanned by
mailscanner with some different options
(allowed filetypes).  If I just change the pid file and the working
directory is that enough to make it work?

I have such a system running, but I was wondering if I might encounter
issues with the two separate
mailscanner instances fighting.
