By "the wrong fix" he means "making the problem go away isn't
necessarily the same as solving it".
Reminds me of the time a friend disconnected the internal speaker
because of some "infernal beeping".
Turns out that the noise the broken CPU fan was making was made worse
by the beeping.
He was replacing his CPU soon after.
Just my 2c.
