The output is a bit strange (no line break) but i will just paste it like 
it prints on my screen :

[root at linuxgw etc]# rpm -q --queryformat='%{ARCH}' perl
x86_64x86_64[root at linuxgw etc]#

(Quite weird how it repeats the architecture twice)
