banned files inside a tar.gz

Hi,

If I send a .exe file inside a zip or rar, mailscanner detect it as a
Banned Content (why not banned filename? lower priority?).

But when I compress a exe file inside a tar.gz file, mailscanner dont
look inside the file and the .exe didn't get banned. Do mailscanner
support tar.gz checks?

I have Debian Lenny and the latest version of mailscanner compiled from
sources.
