Clamd::ERROR:: Input/Output

I'm seeing this occasional error from clamd:

clamd[22528]: /var/spool/MailScanner/incoming/2255/n1OEUuKK022868/2009 
RETAIL CATALOG.xlsx: Input/Output error ERROR

MailScanner[2255]: Clamd::ERROR:: Input/Output error ERROR :: 
./n1OEUuKK022868/2009 RETAIL CATALOG.xlsx

I've googled and not come up with anything definite, though it seems 
likely that it's a clamav problem, and not failing RAM.
Anyone else seeing this?
