You don't need the -C /etc/MailScanner/spam.assassin.prefs.conf
this file is symlinked to /etc/mail/spamassassin/mailscanner.cf and 
automatically detected by SA.

nope.. nothing broken.. just don't use the -C switch.

make sure the plugin is enabled in v310.pre
