For display you might detect every signature marker and do what is 
supposed to do about signatures. That comes in the normal course of 
parsing the raw text and building a message display.
What you do at quoting time is completely different. And then you may 
indeed go up from the bottom until you detect it. Is much faster then to 
go higher as normally there should be only one ...
