Sounds like a good idea to me! Nothing quite like taking a holiday and
discovering you destroyed the site just before you left :-)

Random Perl bug. Almost impossible to track down. Have you tried a
"strace MailScanner --debug" to see where it dies? It probably won't
tell you anything useful, but you never know...
